single or not single, is not a question. this place up on the hill in Montmartre is must visit for you in love or out of love. Spend the late afternoon ascending the stairs, or you can just take the metro right to Lamarck or Abbesses (embrace yourself in the elevator, smells like ..yucks) and down the butte or take the furniculaire if you want to save energy (but spend some euros) right to white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur on its summit.
i like buying myself some crepes and sitting on the porch across the basilica and having the view of city of Paris on my feet, while watching some teens showing off their moves with portable hi-fi in the stairs. enjoying dinner or see the paintings in the village (I never agree to have my face painted there, it costs me 80-100 euros)(sometimes the artist would just chase me and say it’s done for free), but of all, i just love the lamp and the stairs….!
I no longer recognize/Neither the walls nor the streets/That had seen my youth/At the top of a staircase/I look for a studio-apartment/Of which nothing survives/In its new décor/Montmartre seems sad/And the lilacs died’)
